The City of Ottawa Spec Sports Field Topsoil is an engineered soil that is designed to improve the quality and performance of sports fields. It is a sandy based soil that is mixed and screened with Category A compost, which enhances the water retention and nutrient availability for the turf. The soil is free flowing and can be easily spread. The City of Ottawa Spec Sports Field Topsoil has been successfully used on many sports fields in the city, such as soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and football fields. The soil helps to enhance the turf quality, reduce weed growth, and increase the durability and resilience of the sports fields.
Sports field topsoil is fertile and friable. 65-75% Sand, 25-35% Silt and Clay, where preferably clay is <10%.
