Thawrox Salt is a mix of rock salt, magnesium chloride, and a viscosity modifier that makes the mixture more effective in lower temperatures and icy conditions. In addition to its enhanced low-temperature performance, Thawrox Salt has an expanded melting capacity because it has minimized bounce, meaning that when spread on a driveway, sidewalk, or path, it sticks to the surface and immediately starts melting the ice. Thawrox Salt also emits less total chloride into the environment and reduces levels of corrosion on vehicles and equipment as opposed to other de-icing options. Throughout the winter, these products will be available for pick up at our main landscape depot on Old Prescott Road.
